House rules for Phase 10

Zaragata has 40 house rules for Phase 10 in 2 rule sets, such as Short Cut, Bounce Back, and Dumpster Dive. Read them here. At the table, a character reads each rule out loud the moment its card is played, usually at a friend's expense.

Short Cut

This hand, you may lay down your phase one card short, in any one set or run.

For the rest of the game, the first Skip played on you each hand skips whoever played it instead.

For the rest of the game, you may take your draw from any of the top three cards of the discard pile.

Every other player holding a Wild shows it. Take the one you like best, and give that player any card back.

Hostile Takeover

Swap your whole hand with the other player who has completed the most phases. If two are tied, you pick. Laid-down cards stay where they are.

For the rest of the game, whenever a player two or more phases ahead of you lays down their phase, take one card from their hand without looking.

Double Dip

On your next turn, draw one card from the draw pile and one from the discard pile, and keep both.
